Overview

Ama Dablam refers to a mountain that lies in the Himalayan range of eastern Nepal with an elevation of 6,812 m. It is said to be the third most popular Himalayan peak which is provided a permit for expeditions. Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek is considered as one of the best treks in Nepal that offer magnificent views of multiple numbers of the highest snow-covered peaks from a single vantage point. While trekking to the Ama Dablam Base Camp, we can have a 360-degrees view of the different highest peaks. You’ll get access to the most magnificent presentations during the trek. The trek goes through different beautiful settlements and green forests.
Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek is a gentler trek which can accomplish by a moderately experienced person. The 14 days journey towards Ama Dablam Base Camp starts after your arrival in Kathmandu. We take a morning flight towards Lukla where our trek begins straight to Phakding. After reaching Namche Bazaar, we’ll spend a day for acclimatization and have a short walk within the town. Namche Bazaar is a point to get the glorious view of Mt. Everest. Descending towards Tengboche from Namche Bazaar, you can find many monasteries and stupas which give a great importance to the Buddhists religion. Tengboche Monastery is the largest monastery in Tengboche region. We’ll have our second acclimatization day in Dingboche. After visiting the Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar, we trek back to Namche Bazaar following the route of Pherice. We’ll trek back to Lukla airport for the flight towards Kathmandu.

Itenarary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and trip preparation (1,300m/4,264 ft)


After your arrival in Kathmandu, a representative will pick you up and transfer you to a hotel. After having some rest, we’ll discuss the tour and buy required gears and equipment. In the evening, you’ll be served special dinner that introduces Nepali food culture.

Day 2: Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding (2,651m/8,700ft): 3 - 4 hours trek


Early in the morning, we take a flight towards Lukla that takes approximately 30-40 minutes. The flight offers the awesome ariel views of different beautiful mountains and local settlements. We begin our trek from Lukla to Phakding. Overnight in Phakding.

Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft): 5 - 6 hours


The next day, we continue our trek towards Namche Bazaar. The trail goes across steep hill climbs and a high number of suspension bridges. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day - Namche Bazaar: (3,440m/11,284ft)


Today, we spend our whole day acclimatizing in Namche Bazaar. We’ll explore the beautiful Sherpa village that has unique culture and tradition and observe different mountain views including Mt. Everest and its neighboring mountains. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft) - 5 - 6 hours


After an early morning breakfast, we move towards Tengboche. We’ll visit some small villages along the trek that has unique culture and tradition. After reaching Tengboche, you can see Tengboche Monastery, which is the largest monastery in Tengboche region. Overnight in Tengboche.

Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft): 5 - 6 hours


The trail goes through a few scattered homes and lodges. We’ll cross beautiful river and bridges in the way before we reach to Dingboche. Dingboche is a small Sherpa village that lies in the Khumbu region in the Chukung Valley. Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 7: Dingboche: Acclimatization


We have our second acclimatization day in Dingboche on the seventh day of our tour. We’ll have a short trek around the town and observe different beautiful views of Himalayas and Mountains. Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 8: Dingboche to Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft): 5-6 hours


The next day, after a breakfast, we hike towards Lobuche following the route of steep roads and local settlements. The trek is equally rewarding that offers you amazing views of Everest alongside Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, and Nuptse.Overnight in Lobuche.

Day 9: Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,170 m/16,961ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,594 ft): 6-7 hours


The trail towards Gorakshep gently slope upwards, but the elevation makes the graded a thousand times more intense than it would be otherwise. We walk via Everest Base Base Camp that offers the exciting views of Mt.  Everest along with its neighboring mountains. You can observe the beautiful view of frozen lakebed which is covered with sand in Gorakshep. Overnight in Gorakshep.

Day 10: Gorakshep to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) to Pheriche (4,288m/14,070ft) 7-8 hours


Kala Patthar is best known for the awesome mountain view of Mt. Kala Patthar with the view of Mt. Everest in the background. After reaching Kala Patthar, we continue our trek towards Pheriche through flat heading towards downhill. Overnight in Pherice.

Day 11: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280 ft): 6 - 7 hours


Early in the morning, we walk back to Namche Bazaar through some dustier track and a bit slippery road. Namche Bazaar is famous for the unique culture and tradition of Sherpa people. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 12: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft): 6 - 7 hours


The next day, we’ll have our last trek towards Lukla airport. While on the way, you can see the thrilling view of Lukla airport which forces you to capture the moments in the camera. Overnight in Lukla.

Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu


Early in the morning, we take a flight towards Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, you can do some shopping for gifts for your family and friends. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 14: Final departure


Our tour comes to an end this day. After an early breakfast and hotel checkout, a representative will help you with your final departure.

Similarly, Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 30 days and 90 days can be obtained by paying USD 40 and 100 respectively. Please bring 2 copies of passport size photos.)

Good to Know

We fly to Lukla (2827 meters) with spectacular views of the mountains to start our Amadablam base camp trek. We hike through the Dudh Koshi valley to the Sherpa settlement of Namche Bazaar (3440 meters) an unofficial capital of the Sherpas where we have separated 2 nights stay for proper acclimatization and exploration. Trekking through the lovely forest to the world renowned and sacred monastery of Thyangboche (3867 meters) is rewarded with the stunning views of Everest soaring behind Nuptse, Lhotse, Amadablam, Kangtega and Tawache making a panoramic Himalayan vista.

We ascend from Pangboche to the alpine camp on the flanks of the Amadablam peak base camp, away from the popular trail to savor the Himalayas’ wonder. The traditional Sherpa village of Khumjung shows you the Sherpa life style and so called Yeti scalp in a monastery before you fly out to Kathmandu to end the exhilarating Amadablam base camp trekking in Everest region.
