Overview

Muktinath, antique Hindu temple of God Vishnu and it is a fascinating sacred site in Nepal for both Hindu and Buddhists which is situated about 18km northeast of Jomsom at the elevation of 3800m, at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass in Mustang, Nepal. The main shrine, designed in Pagoda style symbolizes the religious symbiosis between Buddhists and Hindu. Never forget to bath in the 108 waterspouts because generally it is believed that, once you will bath and visit Muktinath temple, all the miseries will release. After bathing, you can visit the major attractions of Muktinath; Mukti Dhara. Kunda, Gomba, Jwalamai Temple, Sri Murthy Mahatma, Swaminarayan, Saligrama, Gomba Samba and many more. 
 
Jomsom, the land is fused with nature and culture with the backdrop of the wild Himalayas, situated at the elevation of about 2700m, north of Pokhara, in Mustang District of Nepal. The way to Muktinath is a pleasing trail where you will be amazed to encounter ascetic sadhus caring trident and some people selling the Saligrams, a black stone along the way to Kali Gandaki. Jomsom is a famous place for soaring snow-white peaks of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri massif from the backdrop. The deep valleys and high mountains encompassing the giant Annapurna Himal embrace a wide range of peoples and terrain, from subtropical jungle to a high, dry landscape resembling the Tibetan Plateau. The fascinating village Jomsom is filled with ancient Buddhist monasteries, black stone (Saligrams), prayer wheels, chortens, and many mores. This amazing Jomsome to Muktinath trek provides you an opportunity to encounter with the rich combination of Hindu and Tibetan Buddhist culture. Jomsom is a gateway for trekkers to trek to Muktinath and Lo-Mantang as well as a common ending point on the Annapurna circuit.  

This fascinating trek to Jomsom and Muktinath begins with the astonishing views of white and green Himalayas. We will take a domestic air flight from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal to Pokhara. As we reach to the paradise land called Pokhara, we will take Jomsom flight and trek to Muktinath. The remarkable route of Mustang and the Annapurna region takes us to the famous Muktinath Temple, where we can experience the different cultures of the Annapurna region. Viewing various stunning landscapes and cultures of the people will surely provide us fascinating insight into the way of living of rural Nepali people. Physical beauty on the way to Muktinath will truly captivate us.

Itenarary

Day 1: Greetings at Kathmandu Airport


After your arrival at Airport Kathmandu, we will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After hotel check out you can take a rest. You will have a small meeting with our representative and know about the further trek. In the evening, you can enjoy a welcome dinner. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2: A full day recreational tour of Kathmandu, the capital valley


As morning rises, we will head for full day sightseeing tour around Kathmandu Valley. You can visit Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath, Boudhanath Stupa and Royal Kathmandu Durbar Square. Overnight at the same hotel.

Day 3: Flight or Drive to Pokhara and Phewa lake boating


After having your breakfast, we can take a wonderful flight which offers us incredible Mountain. After 25 minutes flight, you will reach to the heavenly city Pokhara. if you wish to explore Pokhara, you can. You can enjoy boating in the Fewa Lake with the impressive reflection of golden fishtail in the Fewa Lake is unimaginable. You can visit magical Mahendra cave and David Falls with the magnificent views of the Himalayas. Overnight at Pokhara.

Day 4: Pokhara Trekking to Tikhedhunga (1540m): walking distance - 9.6 km.


After having morning breakfast, we can begin our official trek forward to Tikhedhunga. Today we need to walk around 9.6 km route through Lumle village, Nayapul. Birethathi by following the bamboo forest, beautiful waterfalls. Overnight at Tikhedhunga.

Day 5: Tikhedunga trek to Ghorepani (2750m): walking distance - 9.4 km


After morning breakfast, we head forwards to Ghorepani through crossing the beautiful suspension bridge over the Tikhedunga River and cross the Bhurungdi Khola on a large bridge at 1520m. The further trial will be ascending to the large Magar village of Ulleri (2080m) and the trail gently climbs through pastures and cultivated fields, oak, and Rhododendron forest until you reach to Nangathanti (2460m). About an hour trek from Nangthanti will take you to Ghorepani at 2750m. Overnight at Ghorepani.

Day 6: sanjiv jee lai sodhnus na


In this day, before having breakfast, we will continue our trek forwards to Poon Hill (3210m), for the impressive sunrise views and incredible mountains views. You can view the spectacular Mountains such as; Mt.Dhaulagiri I (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m) and other small Himalayas as Tukuche, Nilgiri, Annapurna South, Hiuchhuli, Tarke Kang and many more. After outstanding views, we will return back to Ghorepani and continue our trek onwards to Tatopani through a small village and Ghaja Khola. Where you can enjoy bathing in the natural hot water. Overnight at Tatopani.

Day 7: Tatopani trek to Ghasa (2000m): walking distance - 11.7 km


We continue our trail from Tatopani, by following the road (or even take a jeep) all the way up to Ghasa. Today’s pleasing trek along the beautiful Kaligandaki river will take us to the village of Ghasa marks a cultural and ecological milestone. Stay overnight at Ghasa.

Day 8: Ghasa Trekking to Marpha (2665m): walking distance - 22 km


We continue our trail from Tatopani, by following the road (or even take a jeep) all the way up to Ghasa. Today’s pleasing trek along the beautiful Kaligandaki river will take us to the village of Ghasa marks a cultural and ecological milestone. Stay overnight at Ghasa.

Day 9: Marpha to Kagbeni (2810m)): walking distance – 13.5 km


In this day, after having morning breakfast, we will continue our trek with the beautiful river to Jomsom, the districts headquarter of Mustang district. On the way, you can enjoy witnessing various interesting and picturesque old town and large Dechenling and Tashi Lhankhang Monasteries. As you reach to Jomsom, you can have some spectacular snaps of stunning mountains such as; Mt. Nigiri, Dhaulagiri and Tukuche peaks. The further climb will take us to the Kagbeni, a medieval village, where you can enjoy seeing mud houses and dark tunnels. Overnight at Kagbeni.

Day 10: Kagbeni trekking to Muktinath (3800m): walking distance of 8.7 km


Today after a pleasing night at Kagbeni, we will take a breakfast, and continue gradual ascends to Muktinath, the most important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. You can also enjoy exploring Tibetan style prayer wheels, you pass first the Gompa Sambha (monastery) and then a Lord Shiva Temple ringed by four shrines. The major attraction of Muktinath is 108 brass water pouts, where you need to bath in the frigid water, which will release your skin disease. Then you need to make a short walk for the Buddhist Marme Lhakhang, whose center is the image is of Tibetan Buddhist sage Guru Rinpoche, here holding a Hindu style trident. Overnight at Muktinath.

Day 11: Muktinath Trek to Jomsom (2713m): walking distance - 16.7 km


In this day, after having a delicious breakfast, we will head towards Jomsom after exploring Muktinath. On the way, we can encounter with the people from Mustang who comes to sell handicrafts to pilgrims, and Shaligram. We can also have impressive views of white snow-capped mountains and some ancient caves. Overnight at Jomsom.

Day 12: Jomsom fight to Pokhara & Free time


After morning breakfast, we can take a scenic flight to Pokhara. As you arrive in the dreamland Pokhara, you will visit Fewa Lake and enjoy boating with the splendid mountain views.

Day 13: Pokhara to Kathmandu, Take a 25 minutes flight or 6/7-hour Drive.


Today, after having a morning breakfast, we will take a flight or drive by tourist bus/Private car to Kathmandu. In the evening, you can enjoy a farewell dinner with our team. Overnight at hotel.

Day 14: Final Departure


Today is your final day in Nepal. Our representative will help you to find your flight. You will leave Nepal with the sweet memory that you had during the trek.

Similarly, Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 30 days and 90 days can be obtained by paying USD 40 and 100 respectively. Please bring 2 copies of passport size photos.)
