Overview

The journey to the Tamang Heritage trek allows you to explore an untouched area of Langtang Valley and unique culture of Tamang people.  Culturally and traditionally rich the Tamang Heritage trekking trail offer us to explore varied cultural practices of the people and existed natural heritage of the Langtang region. You will trek through the beautiful alpine grasslands with colorful flowers and captivating high mountain range on the background. On the way to Tamang Heritage trek, we will also get an opportunity to encounter with different ethnic communities and their unique culture and tradition.  Exploring ancient Buddhists monasteries, century-old stupas, Mani Walls, colorful prayer flags during our trek make this trek worth rewarding.  Apart from cultural heritage, you can also enjoy witnessing numerous peaks such as the Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Shispangma, and many other Tibetan Peaks that display in the region. Experiencing Tamang culture and exploring stunning landscapes of near Tibetan border is really fascinating things to do in this trek.  You will trek in the off beaten trekking trail and get a unique experience to bath in the natural hot spring in the Tatopani and observe ancient lifestyle.
The cultural Tamang Heritage trek in Nepal begins from Kathmandu Valley and reach to Syabru Besi and start trekking following the river upstream through the beautiful forests of bamboo, rhododendron, and pine. Ascending through pastures to Kyanjin Gompa which offers us sensational Tibetan mountain vistas. Visit ancient monastery and explore the high valley of Chhirku Ri, Langshisa, and Kyamjin Ri. Explore the picturesque Gatlang Village and historical fort of Rasuwagadhi, secret lake of Parvati kund and make this trek one of the best adventurous treks in Nepal. For the rest purpose, we will spend a day at Lama Hotel. After explorations of Tamang heritage and interesting culture of the people, we will head back to Kathmandu by following the Dhunche route.

Itenarary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu


After your arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will greet you and drop you at your hotel in Kathmandu where you can be fresh and do rest. In the evening our representative will provide you a brief explanation about the further trek and you can enjoy welcome dinner in the Nepali restaurant. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing and trek preparation.


In this day, after having breakfast, we’ll manage you to visit some major religious and historical places in Kathmandu Valley. You can begin our sightseeing tour within Kathmandu, observing the UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as; Royal Hanuman Dhoka Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swoyambhunath also called monkey temple, Boudhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in the world. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi.


Asmorning rises, we will have morning breakfast and drive towards the Syabru Besi, the starting point of trekking. Eight hours of the straight scenic drive will take you to the beautiful Syabru Basi. You can enjoy some small urban and villages on the way to Syabru Basi. Overnight at Syabru Besi.
 

Day 4: Trek from Syabru Besi to Gatlang.


In this day, after early breakfast, we will continue our trek with the steady climb up to the top of and admire the splendid view of Langtang Lirung range and Ganesh Himal. After an hour of walking, we reach our next destination Golijung Valley, where we will stop for a lunch. Passing through various Tamang valleys, we finally reach our destination Gatlang valley. Overnight at Gatlang.

Day 5: Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani.


Next morning, after morning breakfast, we make our step towards Tatopani. Around 5 to 6 hours of the genital trail will take you to the Tatopani. During our descending trail, the trail let you to have amazing and wonderful panoramic view of mountains includes Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung and many more. After we reach Tatopani, you can enjoy a hot spring bath. It is believed that once you bath in this hot natural water it will release all the skin disease. Overnight at Tatopani.

Day 6: Trek from Tatopani to Thuman.


Today, after early breakfast, we start a long walk Up and down the trail along the forest from Tatopani to Thuman, which takes 5 to 6 hrs. by foot. Stay overnight at Thuman.

Day 7: Trek from Thiman to Timure


Today, the trek continually descends to Timure Village, which takes about five hours of straight walking. While trekking from Thuman to Timure you can visit nearby historical Rasuwagadi. It is the border area with Tibet that can be reached after crossing the bridge. Timure is an ancient salt trade route to Tibet. Then we trace the trail to Timure village and rest.

Day 8: Trek from Timure to Briddim


Today, it is a continual walk through the rhododendron forest. The trail goes downstream for an hour to an easily missed footpath branching left up to Lingling. You can get food and good lodging is available at the traditional Homestay in Lingling.

Day 9: Trek from Briddim to Lama Hotel


After exploring Briddim, we head towards Lama hotel following the ridge of the rhododendron forest. We reach Lama hotel after 6 hours of walk. The village is located on the bank of the Langtang river.

Day 10: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabru Village


After a few days of quality and good times in Langtang valley, we are trekking back towards Syabru Village. The trail continues through dense forests, some descents, and ascents, passing water chortens and water mills, we finally reach the Langtang Valley. We are going to experience the unique cultural lifestyle of people living in the region and amazing landscapes.

Day 11: Syabru Besi to Dhunche


After breakfast, we trek to Dhunche a small and beautiful town at the end of our trekking trip. Today’s trek takes us through some more Nepali ethnic mountain villages and natural wonders before reaching Dhunche.

Day 12: Dhunche to Kathmandu


Today, after breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu on the same route we took to Syabru Besi before starting our trekking.

Day 13: Departure Day


Today is your final day in Nepal. Our representative will help you to reach your final destination. We wish, you will have safe journey.

  • Nepal entry visa; you can obtain the visa easily upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu (Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 15 days can be obtained by paying USD 25 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 30 days and 90 days can be obtained by paying USD 40 and 100 respectively. Please bring 2 copies of passport size photos.)
